Monitoring Devices
Most Bed Bug infestations are low level which generally means the resident is experiencing bites but is unable to visually ID the pest. This is because bed bugs are adept at hiding in the smallest cracks and crevices and can remain there until it is time to feed which is usually every 5-7 days. Interceptor Traps are a simple device that are highly effective for determining the presence of bed bugs. The traps are placed under the legs of the bed and then the bed is isolated from the wall. Skirting is removed and the resident continues to sleep in the bed. This draws the pest out of harborage for a blood meal and forces it to go through the trap to get to the host where they get caught. Used properly, this simple device is 95% effective in positively identifying a low level infestation.
